Two prediction markets are staring at the same Oklahoma primary and seeing different races
Polymarket gives Jim Priest a 34% chance of winning the Democratic nomination for Senate in Oklahoma. Kalshi gives him 5%. Same question, same candidate, same primary. A 29-point gap.
This is the kind of split that isn't supposed to happen. When Polymarket and Kalshi both list a market, they usually settle within a few points of each other because arbitrageurs step in fast. Here, nobody has. Volume is thin but real on both sides: about $12K on Polymarket, about $20K on Kalshi. Enough that someone is betting with conviction. Not enough that a serious player has bothered to close the gap.
One crowd thinks Priest is a legitimate contender for a downballot primary in a deep-red state. The other thinks he's a footnote. Both cannot be right, and the disagreement is worth an order of magnitude.
The cheapest read: obscure races attract different bettors on different venues, and neither pool is deep enough to be called informed. Watch whether either price drifts toward the other as the Oklahoma primary approaches. Convergence names the winner of this argument.
