Bloomberg is flagging fresh US sanctions on Iran this morning, and Polymarket's market on whether the US-Iran 60-day negotiation period gets extended just collapsed 47 points to 16% on $317K of 24-hour volume. The window expires Thursday night. The crowd is calling it.
Here's what makes the move interesting. The same day the extension market cratered, the sister market on a US invasion of Iran before 2027 spiked 67 points to 16%. The traders who gave up on diplomacy didn't walk away, they rotated. For the first time this cycle, invasion tail-risk is being bought as a serious outcome rather than a fringe one.
That rotation is the whole story. Two weeks ago the recent-news frame was a president dangling a rapid deal to cancel an attack. Now the market is treating the deal path as effectively dead and pricing the attack path as live. The headline hasn't caught up to what the money is doing.
The extension market resolves Thursday at 11:59 PM ET. If no joint announcement lands by then, the invasion market becomes the one that matters.
