National Democrats are funding Talarico and the Texas Senate line is holding above even
The New York Times reported yesterday that top national Democrats are starting to write checks for James Talarico in the Texas Senate race. Kalshi has the Democrats winning that seat at 60%, essentially unchanged on the day, with $6.2M of lifetime volume backing the price.
Sit with the state that number is describing. Texas has not sent a Democrat to statewide office in three decades. A 60% read on a Democratic pickup there is not a normal number, and it did not appear because Talarico is suddenly a phenom.
The market is really pricing the Republican primary. Ken Paxton is out-raising the rest of the GOP field by roughly six-to-one on receipts, and the crowd is treating his likely nomination as the Democrats' opening. National money moving toward Talarico is the confirmation of a bet the crowd already placed: a Paxton-led ticket is beatable in a way a generic Republican is not.
Watch the next FEC quarterly and any movement in the Republican primary field. If Paxton's lead in the primary softens, the 60% on the Democratic side is the first thing that moves.

Analysis of the Day
Will Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva win the 2026 Brazilian presidential election? Resolves in 4 days · $12.1M lifetime volume | NO 42% |
Lula's government just announced a $28 billion consumer debt buyout program five days before the election, a classic incumbent stimulus play designed to boost approval among lower-income voters, his core base. However, Brazilian presidential elections require a majority, and with multiple candidates splitting the field, a runoff on October 26 is the more likely path to resolution; this market resolves on the October 4 first-round result, meaning Lula must clear 50%+1 outright to resolve YES here, a bar no recent Brazilian presidential candidate has cleared in the first round. The debt-relief headline is a positive signal for Lula's standing, but first-round outright victory remains a steep threshold given Brazil's fragmented field.

Latest Oil Market News and Analysis for Sept. 29
Bloomberg's daily oil wrap notes crude rising a second day, but flags that flows through the key Saudi East-West pipeline are already resuming, easing one of the week's supply scares. The Polymarket contract on a September 30 restart falls -13pp to 16%, which reads oddly against the news. The crowd apparently reads 'resumption of flows' as partial or not-by-deadline rather than a clean restart.
